Our trainer, Cristiane Carneiro, comes from Brazil, where her lifelong love of animals, especially dogs, began. As a teenager she often took in stray dogs, rehabilitated them and found homes for them. She also worked with Gilberto Miranda, the most famous movie animal handler in Brazil.
Cris moved to the United States in 2000 where she took a one year course in dog training. She learned how to train, guide dogs, service dogs protection dogs and pet dogs.She obtained her certification as a dog trainer. She went on to study various methodologies of dog training. She continuously improves her skills as a dog trainer by attending seminars and classes, including clicker training,first aide, veterinary assistant. She also works with other dog trainers to improve her skills. She assisted in the rehabilitation of dogs for adoption and showing them on television for the Helen Woodward Center. She volunteered at a non profit organization that rescues shelter dogs and trains them to perform service functions for people with physical or emotional disabilities. She participated in training search and rescue dogs with California rescue dog association. She volunteered and studied at Del Norte Plaza veterinary clinic, to improve her skills in first aide. She has taught dog training classes for ROP programs and Rancho Coastal Humane Society. Presently Cris is devoting her time to Better Dog Training where she works with numerous dogs and their owners. She teaches the dog obedience and the owner how to handle the dog. She is a member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers)
