For the last three years we have entrusted our three slightly mischievous English Bulldogs to Chris.  Each of them “graduated” from obedience school happy, healthy (both mentally and physically), and obedient.

Chris truly takes the time to get to know each animal’s strengths and weaknesses and develops a training routine that meets their individual needs as well as the needs of the owner.  She cares for each of the animals as if they were her own and focuses not only on their obedience but in making sure that each of them is happy and healthy.  Even out vet noticed the difference in our dogs.  We have recommended Chris to several of our friends and they were not disappointed.

Chris takes the time to train the owners too and doesn’t let you “graduate” until you feel confident in the techniques she has introduced to your pet.  Her patience in working with the owners is unparalleled and in my case, thank goodness!  Sometimes I wonder if the owners aren’t harder to train than the animals.

Chris is life-saver when it comes to boarding and our pets love going to “Camp Chris”.  Their faces light up the minute they see her and run full steam into her open arms for their belly rubs.  This summer Chris kept our bullies for over two weeks, during which time we were out of communication range.  I cannot express how at ease our minds were knowing that our bullies were safe and, most importantly, happy at “Camp Chris”.  She took care of their medications, their special diets and grooming and even gave them a refresher course in house manners.    There is no one that we trust more with the well-being and training of our pets and we recommend her emphatically.

Trust your pet to her and I promise you will have a happy, healthy, obedient pooch when it’s all said and done.

BULLDOGS

I just wanted to let you know that we are enjoying Snickers so much now. We are learning to encourage the good behaviour we want and need from him, at the same time we can tell that he is ALOT happier dog.

Anyway, he is doing great!

I have always been amazed by the kind of dog that sits quietly outside of Noah’s Bagels while the master sips coffee. Both of my dogs wiggle, squirm and whine in that setup. When I finally decided to do something about their bad habits, they were two years old. I had already read the dog training books and tried the correction collars (thanks but, no thanks, to Petco). Nothing worked. A couple of dog trainers said that it was too late because my dogs were too old to train. Another trainer told me it would cost $5000 for each dog.
If any of this sounds familiar, don’t lose hope. Better Dog Training is a residential training program for dogs run by Christine Carneiro. My dogs came there with a long list of bad behaviors. One of my dogs would bolt when the front door opened. The other was homicidal toward small dogs. She helped me solve those problems! Chris is the “Dog Whisperer” of San Diego County.

I met Cristiane approximately 5 years ago, when I hired her to come to my house to evaluate a 2 year-old dog that I was thinking about rescuing. Someone had dumped it on our property.I already had a 7-year old dog and two 13-year old cats, as well as my 6-year old daughter. So it was an important decision and I was not qualified to make it.

Based on her assessment, I decided not to keep the dog because it would not have been a good fit for our family. However, I was so impressed with her knowledge, enthusiasm and passion as a dog trainer that I knew if I ever got another dog, I would want her to train it.

When our older dog died, we decided we were ready for another dog. Before we acquired a puppy, I made sure that Cristiane was still located in North County because I wanted her to train it.We got Duke when he was 6-weeks old and after he finished his puppy shots, he went to Cristiane's to puppy foundation training for 10 days. She spent so much time with us to teach us about the dog and how he was being trained. Wow, what a difference after 10 days! I was so pleased. Duke is now 5 months and is currently at Cristiane's for his first 2 week obedience training session. We will be participating in his training after the first week. We miss him so much! I call Cristiane frequently and she is always very responsive.

The kennel facility is kept very clean and her assistant is wonderful. Since I have been there frequently with Duke, I have had the opportunity to see the dogs that are there for boarding as well as training and they are very well cared for. I hope this information will help you with your decision. I confidently recommend Cristiane and her kennel facility
